The Summer anime season runs from July to September and generally has a great selection of shows for fans to enjoy. This year is no different and features a collection of anime covering various genres that is bound to make fans very excited.
1. Tower of God Season 2
Release Date - July 2024
Tower of God makes its long-awaited return and will continue the story right from the shocking betrayal of Rachel. While introducing a new central character named Wangnan, it also sets the stage for Bam’s return under a new name. Still wishing to climb the tower and find answers from Rachel for stabbing him in the back, Bam is joined by a new cast of bright characters as they face many more trials that the tower presents.
2. Oshi no Ko Season 2
Release Date - July 3rd, 2024
The dark and fascinating anime Oshi no Ko will follow a stage play for its second season as Aqua trails the path of the perpetrator of his father’s death. While dealing with the complexities of the entertainment industry itself, he will also have to track down his father, who he believes is connected to Ai’s tragic end.
3. Fairy Tale: 100 Years Quest
Release Date - July 7th, 2024
Considered to be one of the best arcs of the manga, the next season of Fairy Tale follows Natsu and his group as they attempt to achieve the seemingly impossible 100 year Quest. Tasked with sealing the five dragon gods, our main characters are in for a thrilling adventure.
4. Suicide Squad Isekai
Release Date - July 2024
Our favorite DC villains are brought to the anime world as Amanda Waller assigns the Suicide Squad with a challenging mission in an Isekai World. With crazy fun and explosive action awaiting fans as well as the high animation quality of Wit Studios, this has high potential to be the standout anime of the season.
5. The Elusive Samurai
Release Date - July 2024
Tokiyuki is the young successor of the Kamakura Shogunate whose life is turned upside down after his lineage’s reign is brought to an end by enemies. Having been good at hide-and-seek, he uses this to his advantage to elude all those who wish to kill him while recruiting allies. With both comedy as well as dark themes, the Elusive Samurai gives us a unique glimpse into history.
6. Kimi ni Todoke Season 3
Release Date - August 2024
The extremely wholesome and sweet Kimi ni Todoke returns 13 years after its previous season for fans to enjoy the beautiful development and romance between its protagonists. With both Sawako and Shouta confessing to each other, they will need to figure out the true meaning of being a couple while getting past hurdles together.
7. Wistoria: Wand and Sword
Release Date - July 2024
Despite not having any talent for magic, Will Serholt aims for the top of the magical world with his sword prowess. However, having to face enemies both inside and outside his school, achieving his dream is no simple task. This is a fun and engaging Shounen series with amazing action sequences and stunning designs.
