HAIKYUU!! FINAL Movie Gets an Official Title & Teaser PV!!

As part of Haikyu!! Day, an annual celebration event for Haikyu!! Series that takes place in Japan on August 19th. It was revealed that the Part 1 of the Upcoming 2-Part Movies is titled: “Haikyu!! THE MOVIE -Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump-”

Along with the title, A New Teaser PV for the Movie was also revealed.

It was also announced that more information about the Movie will be revealed on SEPTEMBER 24th as part of “HAIKYU!! Festa 2023 -Great Farewell Party- event”. So fans can expect a new trailer/teaser/key visual for the film along with a release date for the Movie.

The 2-Part Movies will be a theatrical sequel to Haikyu!! Season 4 (TV Anime) animated by Production I.G, which aired back in 2020 and was titled as “Haikyuu!! To the Top”. As of now the TV Anime series has adapted 292 chapters of the manga out of 402 chapters of the manga. This would mean that the staff has to adapt 100+ chapters of the manga into 2 Movies. This decision of adapting 100+ chapters into 2 films has resulted in a sour reaction from fans who fear that it’s inevitable that some of the Important Events and Arcs from the Manga will be either rushed or completely cut from the Movies just for the sake of completing the anime adaptation.

As of now no details regarding the release date, run-time & staff of the Movies have been revealed.

Synopsis about HAIKYU!!:

“Ever since having witnessed the “Little Giant” and his astonishing skills on the volleyball court, Shouyou Hinata has been bewitched by the dynamic nature of the sport. Even though his attempt to make his debut as a volleyball regular during a middle school tournament went up in flames, he longs to prove that his less-than-impressive height ceases to be a hindrance in the face of his sheer will and perseverance.

When Hinata enrolls in Karasuno High School, the Little Giant’s alma mater, he believes that he is one step closer to his goal of becoming a professional volleyball player. Although the school only retains a shadow of its former glory, Hinata’s conviction isn’t shaken until he learns that Tobio Kageyama—the prodigy who humiliated Hinata’s middle school volleyball team in a crushing defeat—is now his teammate.

To fulfill his desire of leaving a mark on the realm of volleyball—so often regarded as the domain of the tall and the strong—Hinata must smooth out his differences with Kageyama. Only when Hinata learns what it takes to be a part of a team will he be able to join the race to the top in earnest.”
